As a means to bring love and hope to HIV/Aids orphans and vulnerable children in South Africa, we have partnered with the founder of Focus on Africa/I-Themba. With over 3.2 million orphaned children in this part of the world, there is a great calling by the ultimate comforter, Jesus, to give hope and love in His name. Many are being raised by their grandparents or are living in child headed households  Together we have been able to provide the much needed connection with our "Love Packs" opening doors and hearts to share the love Jesus freely offers to His precious children. Gifts such as shoes, bottled water, clothing and vitamins have been some of the many items added to each shipment of backpacks. The opportunity to reach out to areas like "Land of a Thousand Hills" has brought hope to an area ravaged by AIDS, high infant mortality, extreme poverty, unemployment, and the breakdown of family life. Most families in this area consist of single mothers. Many babies and small children are left unsupervised while these mothers desperately seek employment. Many are dying of AIDS and simply cannot care for the basic needs of their children. These factors contribute to the unnecessary sickness, injury, abuse and death for the children in this part of South Africa. Many are underdeveloped physically and mentally due to malnutrition and a lack of suitable mental stimulation. Due to poverty, superstition and stress on the social fabric, child rape and molestation has reached epidemic proportions. Very little love or real care is offered to these precious children. Containers of Hope has been called to reach beyond ourselves to love children such as these providing love, clothing, school supplies and hope in Jesus through the gift of His word (a bible).
